Carbon and Graphite Felt
The carbon and graphite felts are processed from a rayon precursor and fired to graphitizing temperatures. Primarily used as high temperature insulation in inert or vacuum atmospheres offering high stability through rapid thermal cycling.
Distinctive Characteristics
- Superior thermal properties over a wide range of operating temperatures
- High stability with low shrinkage
- Flexible and easy to handle
- Low density and thermal mass
- Greater efficiency in heating and cooling
- Low thermal conductivity
- Uniformity through the material
- Available in different lengths, widths and thicknesses
- Easily cut to fit specific size requirements
- Can be halogen purified to reduce impurity levels into the ppm range
